 Aromatic Kinesiology

Aromatic Kinesiology is a combination of therapies which provide a treatment that uses essential oils in conjunction with kinesiology to enhance physical and emotional wellbeing. This reduces stress levels and helps to balance emotional expression. It promotes insight, responsibility and participation as important factors in the healing process. It explores images, thoughts and beliefs as part of the management of the mind-body connection. It may include advice on nutrition, relaxation, meditation and the uses of flower essences and exercise.

Kinesiology was originally developed by an American chiropractor called George Goodheart. He found that by testing muscles before and after he made a correction he achieved better results for his patients. As time progressed he was able to make a connection between various muscles and acupuncture meridians. By testing these muscles the Kinesiologist can get a picture of what is happening in your meridian system and how this is affecting you. But, equally, the muscle testing can also show what has affected the meridians in the first place and indicate what is the best way to deal with that stress, be it emotional, physical, environmental, nutritional or mental.

So, kinesiology is a blend of the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and western techniques that allow a Kinesiologist to treat you in a truly holistic manner. Each person's session is unique to them. Kinesiology can establish connections between imbalances and can establish which the priority issue to be dealt with is and what is the most effective treatment.

Kinesiology uses a range of gentle yet extremely powerful techniques. These restore balance to your system and create and maintain health and well-being. You can function better on all levels. Kinesiology also allows the Kinesiologist to draw on other healing techniques and modalities and integrate them into the session where appropriate and indicated by the muscle response.

Some people consider kinesiology to be one of the best methods to use to uncover and help the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means. Kinesiology is a safe, quick, non-invasive and effective system of holistic healthcare. It takes uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body. These imbalances can be on a structural, nutritional, emotional or energetic level and can prevent the body from working to its full potential.

The main tool in Kinesiology is muscle testing. Gentle pressure is used to find out what is happening in the body measuring the muscle's response.
This can be done lying down, sitting or standing or by using a surrogate (used when treating babies, or very frail or disabled people.)

There is no need to remove any clothing, other than shoes, but wearing loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. Some imbalances can & will be corrected during treatment. Techniques used include:

  • Holding or massaging acupressure points
  • Using essential oils or flower-essences
  • Using colour or sound
  • Giving advice on nutritional requirements and diet
  • Suggesting exercise and techniques to reduce stress

Kinesiology is a very effective diagnostic tool and my clients are often amazed at how accurately it can pin-point the cause of the problem.

Kinesiology can help with a variety of conditions such as:

  • fatigue
  • stress/tension
  • headaches/migraines
  • insomnia
  • food-intolerances & allergies
  • digestive problems/IBS
  • hormonal imbalances/PMT/Menopause and many more.

The number of treatment needed varies, depending on the condition of the client and the amount of time the problem has been present.

Instant improvement and a more relaxed feeling are very often achieved after the first treatment although most clients will need a number of top up at regular intervals.

No consultation and treatment is ever the same; every client is treated as an individual and people will react to changes in lifestyle in different ways.

The first session will take about 1 hr 30 mins. while follow-up sessions will last about 45 min.
